In this session, Debra will provide a quick understanding of our communication styles and how understanding these styles is an essential component of our work survival toolkit. 

Debra will concentrate on:

• Practising good communication skills and communication awareness is vital for assistants as we move forward into our new work environments.
• Providing an overview of different communication styles, how to recognise them, and how to navigate through each.
• Improving our communication skills can lead to better relationships with our co-workers and direct reports, which may lead to successful collaborations and increased clarity and confidence in our roles.

After this session, attendees will be left with a better understanding of various communication styles and how applying this knowledge will be a desired quality that leaders will look for from their future, forward-thinking assistants.

Dr Kathy Gruver will teach practical and fun stress-reduction techniques that you can do in the moment for immediate relief or practice over time for long-term mastery. 

• Discover the warning signs of stress and how it affects communication and leadership
• Explore mindfulness practices such as breathwork and affirmations
• Learn a meditation that you can do anytime, anywhere, even if you think you are too Type A to meditate 

After this session, you will realise you have a choice and don’t have to be a slave to stress-induced reactivity.

The world has changed significantly over the last 18 months, and for many of us, we have had to rapidly change the way we work and interact with our Executives, teams and colleagues. In this interactive panel session, we will discuss what it is like to work as an Assistant during covid. 

We will cover working remotely, staying on top of your tasks, work/life balance, staying in the loop with your Executive, and what the panellists think the future holds for your office and career.
