The Future Assistant Conference 2019 Speakers
SESSION: How to run your day. Time management in the workplace
We all know that time management in the workplace is a challenge. Especially when your time is very much dictated by what your Executive wants and needs from you.
It can be so easy to feel overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to do, and this, of course, can lead to stress and anxiety. But, actually you can completely change how you run your day, and the outcomes are worth the time and effort it takes to master a few time management techniques.
Abigail has helped thousands of people learn how to prioritise their time and resources, increasing their efficiency, giving them more time to focus on driving their careers towards success.
SESSION: Setting goals that will help your career thrive (Online)
As an Assistant, you are always working to targets. This helps guide us in what we need to achieve, but do you have a plan for your career? In this session, we will be looking at how having a plan can have a significant impact on not only the success you achieve in life but how stressful it becomes. Using the 10-point ‘Don’t Just Be’ plan, we will show you how success doesn’t have to be stressful.
SESSION: DOES YOUR PERSONALITY FIT?
In this interactive and thought-provoking presentation, Alison Sumpter will demonstrate, through both activity and discussion, how truly different we all are. After a brief introduction into the psychology of human behaviour and the Insights Discovery© colour model, all delegates will assess their behavioural preferences and will collectively explore the strengths and possible weaknesses of each preference, the frustrations we can feel when working with people not like us, and the vast benefits of doing so.
SESSION: UNLEASH YOUR INNER LEADER
Let’s face it, most employees do not see themselves as the “leadership type” or feel as if they hold a “leadership position” within their organisation. And yet the reality is that leadership has almost nothing to do with an individual’s job title. You do not need to be the designated leader of an organisation or a group to lead.
Everyone is a leader regardless of role or title.
Sounds crazy, right? And yet anyone can lead at any time, as long as you are willing to take responsibility for what is happening in your world, are eager to explore the different dimensions of leadership and are willing to engage in acts of leadership.
But if a job title doesn’t make you a leader, then what does? Enter Mark Leruste, leadership coach, podcast host, TEDx speaker and founder of The Unconventionalists. In his talk “How To Unleash Your Inner Leader”, you will learn how to embrace and unleash your inner leader, explore multidimensional leadership as well as shift your perspective on your leadership role within your organisation no matter your position on the organisational chart.
This is a brilliant opportunity to discover your inner leader without being judged, and start living with the knowledge that what you do and say matters.
SESSION: HANDLING A DIFFICULT CONVERSATION
Dealing with a difficult client, giving your boss feedback about their behaviour or sharing parenting tips with your mother in law – everything that matters most in life happens in conversations.
The things that have the most significant impact on your day-to-day life rely on your ability to have conversations that feel risky – and yet we are not taught the skills needed to master those conversations.
This keynote from Julie Leitz will change the way you talk with others when the stakes are high, and you will learn how to get results without risking damaging the relationships that matter the most.
SESSION: YOUR PEAK PERFORMANCE MASTERCLASS: RAISING THE B.A.R (BELIEFS, ACTIONS AND RESULTS)
Your mindset and personal beliefs will determine your success in any situation. They will control and alter the actions that you take and lead you to success or failure. To achieve more, you need to get out of your comfort zone and analyse your current performance, determined to do things better tomorrow. Discover the practical skills used by successful athletes and business people to perform at their best every day, with proven peak performance techniques.
This session is built on the psychology of performance. You will hear examples and watch video clips of experts who have applied these techniques to gain real-world results. You will then discover how to use these strategies yourself, through lively and practical activities, as you gradually build your skills and master your mindset.
