Today’s technology of the week: Foursquare city guides. Here are all the details…
What is Foursquare City Guides?
I think most of you would have heard of Foursquare but, if not, it is a website and app that brings together restaurant recommendations, hotel picks, must-see places and loads of other useful advice for people travelling around the world. Foursquare has a number of different apps of technology all connected to travel. Today, we are going to look at their City Guides.
What does it do?
Foursquare city guides are online and also come with a handy app. The guides are available for pretty much every major city in the world and are really well designed to help you plan a trip abroad. The search function is great, so for example, you can enter ‘quiet place’ in Barcelona and get a list of places you can book for a quick catch up meeting over coffee. The site also has a selection of pre-packaged suggestions like ‘best beer’ or ‘current theatre shows’.
Why does it benefit Assistants?
If you are planning a business trip for your team or your Executive, I would definitely suggest you take a look at Foursquare city guide before you plan any restaurants or client entertainment. The reviews are pretty useful if you are not sure where best to place your Executive in a city you don’t know very well.
Why is it Practically Perfect PA tech of the week?
I’m always on the lookout for quiet coffee shops in Barcelona with good WiFi and I found my perfect place using the Foursquare city guide. It really is a useful tool to help with any business trip and worth keeping on your phone if you ever get a chance to visit somewhere new too!
