Today’s Technology of the week: Rev. Here are all the details…
What is Rev?
Rev.com is a service website that transcribes video and audio into text, they add captions to video and translate documents into any language, which can be certified for an additional fee.
What does it do?
The folks behind Rev hire freelancers to transcribe audio and video, create captions for videos and podcasts and translate documents. Prices start from $1 per minute for audio or 10c per word for translation. The service they provide is quick, cost effective and reliable and the platform is super easy to use. Simply upload your files, or use the Rev iPhone Transcription App, and get a complete transcript back within a day. The transcriptions are done by people rather than using voice recognition so the accuracy is around 99%.
Why does it benefit Assistants?
Although most of us don’t transcribe audio anymore, there have been occasions that I have spent hours listening and typing up notes from meetings. This type of work can be easily outsourced to a company like Rev and you can concentrate on more exciting work! Also, a lot of organisations are turning to video to promote their businesses online. People are much more likely to watch video’s if they have subtitles. Again a company like Rev can add captions to your videos easily and quickly.
Why is it Practically Perfect PA’s tech of the week?
I have just started to look at adding more videos to the Practically Perfect PA website and Rev are the perfect choice to add those all important captions for me.
