On the run up to Christmas I’d been working some pretty long hours so it was with much relief that I could take a break and spend a few hours at the very lovely NH Constanza Hotel in Barcelona. I enjoyed a beautiful meal at NHube (the hotel restaurant and bar) and I also took a look around the hotel, which I must say is one of the nicest I have seen since I moved to Barcelona last year.

I was so busy on the day of my visit to the hotel that I left everything to the last minute and was late arriving for my dinner reservation: not a good start! But thanks to its great location I soon managed to sort myself out and get to the hotel without any difficulties. The Constanza is situated in the commercial heart of Barcelona so is perfect for visiting Executives that have business meetings in the city.

The hotel itself is part of the NH group that have almost 400 hotels across the world. The NH Constanza has 308 rooms including 60 superior rooms, 7 junior suites and 1 presidential suite. Here is a little bit more detail on the hotel amenities:


The NH group prides itself on its eye for detail and this is certainly the case with the Constanza’s bedrooms. Each room comes with a king size bed or two twins which looked very comfy. The décor is stylish and easy on the eye. All of the bedrooms have air conditioning (a must in the Barcelona summer!), flat screen TV, mini bar, safe, Wi-Fi, a bath and a separate shower.

Spa and Gym

The spa and gym are situated at the top of the hotel with a roof top terrace and pool for guests only. The gym area is small but has everything needed for a good work out session including a treadmill and weights area. The roof top terrace is lovely and would be even nicer in the summer with a pool for cooling off after a stressful day.

Meeting Space

I really was impressed with the meeting space provided at The Constanza. It was very modern with lots of natural daylight and a lot of options for the room layout. The space was separate from the rest of the hotel so for those holding large meetings the delegates do not have to mingle with the rest of the hotel guests.


There are two restaurants, firstly the buffet restaurant which caters for event delegates and is also the place to grab breakfast. Secondly, the NHube restaurant is open to guests for lunch and dinner. While I was there the hotel staff were setting up part of the restaurant for their Christmas day guests and it looked fantastic. I had a three course meal which was beautiful and really good value at €29 and included a very nice bottle of red wine (which added to the festive spirit!).

All in all I would definitely say that a stay at the NH Constanza would be a great choice for the business traveller while in Barcelona. It is out of the way of the tourist areas, which are absolutely packed in the summer, and it has a lot of shops and good restaurants near by. In terms of meeting space I don’t think you could ask for more in the centre of Barcelona.
