The Hotel Casablanca is a good quality hotel in the middle of Time Square. Yup, you read that correctly! There aren’t many nice hotels near Time Square but The Hotel Casablanca certainly fits that description. The location is great and I would say it is the real selling point for The Hotel Casablanca. All of New York’s major attractions are within walking distance.

The name of the hotel evokes images of an exotic and romantic destination. Stepping into the lobby, for a split second you could imagine you were in Morocco  before the noise of Time Square comes crashing back into your senses! The decor is definitely African influenced with lots of archways, ceiling fans, tiles and tapestries – I’m not quite sure it all works but I do believe if you have a theme you might as well go all out!

My room was definitely on the small side but had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. I think the room would have been a little nicer if it had been better designed. For example, the hairdryer was on the wall above the toilet, which obviously made it a bit awkward to dry my hair! I could definitely hear Time Square from my room but it wasn’t too bad. Noise is obviously something to expect when the hotel is located so near to the centre of everything. The bed was comfortable, although again a little on the small side, as was the TV. There wasn’t much room for suitcases either. For solo travellers the standard room would be fine, for two people it is a bit of a squeeze!

I had a lot of work to do while I was staying at the Hotel Casablanca so I spent most of my day in ‘Rick’s Cafe’ – or in other words the hotel’s communal area. As with the other hotels in The Library Hotel Collection, the space for guests to relax is just lovely. Refreshments and snacks are available throughout the day as are complimentary to guests. WiFi throughout the hotel is free and super fast. Every evening between 5pm-8pm the hotel hosts a complimentary cheese and wine reception and breakfast is also included in the price of the room. I genuinely think this is a brilliant service and really does show that the hotel want to look after their guests and do not nickel and dime them for every little thing.

Why book the Hotel Casablanca for your boss? If your manager wants to do some sightseeing while they are in New York I would suggest Hotel Casablanca because the location is great for tourists. If you do book the Hotel Casablanca I would recommend upgrading the room because the classic petite room is very small.
