Organisers of the award-winning Green Office Week are delighted to announce that registration is now open for their 2014 campaign which will run from May 12th – 16th.

Green Office Week, the brainchild of Avery office products, is a national initiative which raises employers eco awareness and encourages a more eco-friendly approach to the workplace through a series of hints and tips and shareable content.

With office-based employees spending more of their time at work, a huge percentage of the country’s energy consumption is in the workplace. Alarmingly Green Office Week research shows that Brits are 3.5 times more likely to consider themselves greener at home than at work and nine out of 10 people feel their company could do more for the environment.

While the office based statistics are worrying enough the national picture is even more sobering: with just over 60 million inhabitants, the UK is home to less than one per cent of the world’s population but responsible for more than two per cent of the planet’s CO2 emissions!

Employees can visit the Green Office Week 2014 website and register to receive free daily downloadable content reflecting each daily theme and sign-up to receive a sample pack containing a range of recycled and FSC accredited products to try out at work.  New to 2014 is the Pledge initiative whereby supporters of the campaign have the opportunity to make up to 5 pledges during the week.

Avery, the architect of Green Office Week, is a firm believer that while “nobody can do everything but everyone can do something” is urging workers to sign up to Green Office Week and make a green pledge to better their working environment. The Green Office Website will guide employees through the week with helpful tips, simple actions and shareable content to help them create a healthier work place, and in return, Avery, in partnership with the Tree Appeal, will plant up to 100 trees to recognise the commitment made by those completing their pledges.

Lights off as Avery launches green office week 2014
