Go Native have fast become our favourite serviced apartments in London. Having previously visited the Creechurch Lane and Monument apartments it was time to stay at their new venture: 8 India Street in the heart of the City of London.

For Assistants booking serviced apartments for their executives, colleagues, contractors or clients, many of whom have stays stretching across weeks or even months, the “service” part of the serviced apartment is crucial. It is a very different approach when looking for a long term stay rather than an over night hotel. The room has to pass the “would I live here” test.

With a very contemporary open plan living design with modern furniture the India Street apartments pass the “would I live here” test with flying colours. Talk about a place you could move into and not change a single thing!

A good sized bedroom with a king size bed sits opposite a large double wardrobe: essential for a long stay. A long and spacious kitchen – which has every white good you can imagine – leads back on to the main living space. There’s plenty of space in the bathroom so it is a shame that they couldn’t squeeze in a bath: you may miss that if you are staying for longer.

There are no surprises that being located in the heart of the financial district in London the outside world may possibly wake up guests prior to their alarm going off. If your Executive is a late sleeper they may have issues with the noise. But as most workers will no doubt be up with the rest of the financial world this isn’t likely to prove any major issue.

Promoted on the Go Native website as “a minimum stay of three nights” I can’t imagine anyone having a problem with a stay of that length. On leaving the apartment the following morning my lift companion, a Scottish businessman with toothpaste still visible in his beard, told me he was being put up for a whole year. A “home more than a flat” was how he described his apartment and that is surely the best way to finish this review!

Go Native would like to offer a rate of £165 per night on a premium studio, with a minimum stay of 2 nights. Please quote “reader offer” when emailing clientenquiries@gonative.com. This offer is available until the end of March.
