London has lots to offer when it comes to venues to celebrate Christmas and the end of a successful year. Many companies highly value this informal time once a year to socialise with colleagues and show appreciation for all the year’s achievements. With so much to choose from it can often be very intimidating to pick a venue for your office party, we all want to please our colleagues so finding a space which fits the personality of the business is very important.
I have recently been to look around a few venues in central London and hear about the packages they can offer including 28 Portland Place, Founders’ Hall, London Zoo and the In & Out.
Portland Place is a classic Edwardian townhouse designed by the famous Scottish architects the Adams brothers, located beside BBC broadcasting house it sits moments away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and what better way to arrive at a Christmas party then to be led down the street by the famous Regent Street Christmas Lights. 28 Portland Place is divided into 5 separate rooms over two floors each intricately decorated in a delicate Edwardian style seated dinners and lunches can be booked for up to 104 people on the 1st floor and the ground floor is perfect to dance the night away with your DJ.
Hidden from the chaos of west Smithfield and overlooking St Bartholomew’s Church, Founders’ Hall is a wonderful gem for hosting private events. It has two very intimate dining rooms which can hold a maximum of 64 guests for a seated meal. The venue has a multitude of Livery treasures on display paying homage to the furnaces of the foundry and their history of church bells and weights which are wonderful talking points. Dressed in rich red and gold colours Founders’ Hall has a festive atmosphere and is a wonderful place to celebrate a successful year!
An ever popular summer venue London Zoo transforms itself in the winter months into a festive paradise, with 3 dinning spaces available for hire for between 20 – 260 guests for a seated meal and up to 600 for a standing reception why not bring a hint of animal to your celebration this year? There are a selection of animal houses available for private hire including the reptile house immortalised by the Harry Potter films, the colourful tropical fish house and the Komodo dragon house again made famous from James Bond films. London Zoo is also the only venue in town where you can add a meet and greet with Santa’s reindeer to your Christmas package.
Military tradition and elegance come together in this fantastic venue located on St James Square. The building is full of tradition having once been the Earl of Kent’s London residence and previous home of Lady Astor the first female Member of Parliament. It is impossible to avoid the character of this beautiful townhouse. There are 5 intimate dining rooms which cater for between 8 – 120 guests for a seated meal. Open fireplaces add the finishing touches to the festive decorations and make for a very warm welcome to each guest!
I hope this gives a few ideas for your Christmas party. To enquire about hiring 28 Portland Place, Founders’ Hall, London Zoo and the In & Out please email William Smith from ITA.
