Making my way down to expected warmth of Myrtle Beach from a very cold Washington DC was much needed and it was especially nice to be picked up from the airport by the Hampton Inn and Suites’s shuttle bus.
The Hampton Inn and Suites is situated directly on the ocean front and it is designed to make the best of its position. The view out to the beach and waterfront are beautiful. The ground floor lobby and surrounding seating areas all look out on to the water and the large windows ensure that the sunlight streams through. Even in January the hotel was light and airy.
The hotel is fantastic; the furniture, decor and atmosphere makes you feel very relaxed. You can see why they have been voted the number 1 hotel in Myrtle Beach by Trip Advisor. The amenities include:

I was quickly checked in by the Hampton Inn and Suites staff and escorted to my suite which overlooked the stunning beach just outside. The suite had everything I needed for my stay including a fully equipped kitchen, a huge bedroom with two double beds, a big bathroom and a really comfortable lounge area with a patio door leading out to the balcony. As you can see it was one of my favourite hotels to photograph; I think I spent more than an hour walking round, snapping away.
I could have hibernated in the suite but the sun had made an appearance and I wanted to explore the hotel. The fitness centre in particular is really well equipped and it looks out over the sea which is a lovely touch. After a good workout I made my way to the indoor swimming pool, which I quickly skipped round to enjoy the wonderful jacuzzi all to myself.
After a fantastic night’s sleep I joined my fellow guests for a complimentary breakfast. I do so appreciated hotels that have complimentary breakfasts – some can charge a small fortune. The breakfast was great, with a mixture of standard continental fare and hot dishes. I loved the fresh waffles (although I did required a helping hand from the attentive staff with the waffle iron!)
As I was visiting Myrtle Beach in January the hotel was very quiet. However there were a few guests, otherwise known as snow birds, who had rented suites for the winter. They obviously loved the hotel and after chatting to a few of them realised that they came to the Hampton Inn and Suites every year. They couldn’t speak more highly of the staff and the hotel.
I had quite a bit of work to catch up on while I was staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites, usually I would stay in my hotel room to work but the communal areas in the hotel were so lovely and relaxing that I spent a good few hours clearing emails while looking out at the stunning scenery. There is also complimentary tea and coffee available throughout the day!
One of the tips I have always given fellow assistants is to check out beach resort hotels for events and conferences in the winter. Most resorts welcome the custom and the delegates have the best of the hotel to themselves. The Hampton Inn and Suites has great meeting and events space and the Myrtle Beach Convention Centre is only 3 miles away. Myrtle Beach is a fantastic place to hold a business event and the Hampton Inn and Suites the perfect hotel for delegates to stay.
Why book the Hampton Inn and Suites for your boss? If your manager has business in Myrtle Beach there is no place better than Hampton Inn and Suites in the area. If you are planning an event in the South Carolina area I would recommend Hampton Inn and Suites particularly out of season. The other guests are wonderfully respectful and the hotel staff are very attentive not to mention the event space itself is perfect for a small conference.
