Well firstly I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that took the time to complete my survey a couple of months ago. I have decided to break the survey results into a few blogs so that I can share how you all feel about being assistants, the industry and your thoughts on the blog. This post will concentrate on the industry and your place within it. This first blog is the Practically Perfect PA Survey: The industry snapshot 2014.

I have been so impressed with how you all think and feel about your roles. The answers were very honest and I am sure will benefit other assistants that read this post. So without further ado here are the results! I’d love to know what you think of the results, if they are as you expected or if you see yourself differently in the role.

Thank you so much for your blogg. It has been enormously helpful to me during my interviewing over the last few weeks whilst trying to secure a new position. All you advice is good common sense but when you are in a job and have to all of a sudden look for a new one it is this advice that you forget after been all snug in a job for many years. On my way to an interview this morning your daily post arrived in my in box so I had your ‘top reasons EA’s love their job’ and used it almost word for word. The recruiter was so impressed by the response that I knew that was the defining moment she decided I was the right candidate to put forward. I’ll keep you informed of my progress. Thanks heaps PPPA!!

Hi Julie. I am buying your book right now. After many, many, many years of working in small/medium size companies and now finding myself looking for a new role once again, I am thrashing out whether I want to make the step to VA myself.
